Ernest Muchu Toh
Research Assistant
Ernest Muchu Toh is a research assistant at the African Centre for Science and International Security (AFRICSIS) since September 2016. Concurrently, he lectures law courses at Damelin College, Cape Town, South Africa. He also provides consultancy services on issues of legal and labour relations at the International College Group (Educor) South Africa. Membership wise, he is a member of the South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA). Previously, he was research assistant in the department of Political Studies and International Relations.
Toh has conducted research in the fields of law, Political Science, and Security and presented highlight of the studies in national and international conferences. Some of his resent research topics include The Role of the African Court on Human and People’s Rights in the Delegitimization of Nuclear Weapons in Africa and Increase in Threats to Monopoly of Violence, and Disregard of State Sovereignty in Post Colonial Africa.
Toh’s areas of interest are nuclear and radiological terrorism and WMD nonproliferation and arms control. His research strives to examines security threats at national and regional levels and how regional polices and institutions can or should address them.
